I'm sleepy but i just had to get a post out now because i know i'd never do it later~
So i am now safely back in Minnesota with my family and i've yet to see my friends. I've worked every day i've been home and been up before 7 each morning. Some vacation so far. But this evening was wonderfully enjoyable! My parents have season tickets to a local theatre house and i got to tag along~ Normally i go to every play they do there, but being in Indiana makes that a bit difficult this year.
Anyways, the play was called "A Don't Hug Me Christmas Carol" and was a sequel to the first play called "Don't Hug Me". It's set in a small bar in Minnesota that's been having money troubles. In the first play, the bar owners got a karaoke machine to help business and much insanity ensued. In this second one, the bar owner falls into a coma and sees what his wife's life would be like had she married someone else. I don't think i've ever laughed so hard at a play before! >x< The jokes and lines were hilarious~ But it might have been a bit confusing to anyone not from Minnesota or familiar with most of the crazy Norwegian traditions~

*shocked silence* *actors unable to keep a serious face* *beer gargling ensues* *more laughter* *kissing moves to the chair* *laughter goes up a notch*
A very entertaining evening! ^-^ I wonder how lost my college friends would be were they to see this play?
And tomorrow- *looks at time*- today, i'm going to the Cities to see the Dayton's display~ ^-^ Hooray! This year it's Mary Poppins! It should be great! Marcia's already seen it and she said it was excellent. I'm looking forwards to it~ And now, i'm off to bed!

Bastards! Bastards! Bastards! I absolutely hate flying alone when i only have a limited amount of time to catch a flight. If i've got hours and hours, i could care less if anyone was traveling with me. But when i've only got twenty minutes to make it to my gate, i do not like having to figure things out by myself.
The Security checkers at O'Hare were absolutely and completely unhelpful. Apparently now you can't take liquids of any kind in your carry-on unless they're in a small ziplock bag. I get to the airport. No ziplock for me. This woman at the first check in i went through would a total snob to me when she dug through my bag without asking first, and then pulling out all of my toiletries. She wanted to confiscate my toothpaste, deodorant, and expensive perfume i bought in Eze this summer. I could care less about the other two, but i did not want to lose my perfume. And apparently though they are enforcing this rule, the staff does not have a single ziplock to donate to my cause.
The only thing that made up for it was the nice guard at the metal detector. I had forgotten to take my boots off so i unzipped them quickly and walked though. He was all, "Oh! That's cheating! You're supposed to stop and take the time to unlace them all!" ^-^ I laughed and we chatted about the different types of shoes that zipped and laced and tied around your ankles~ ^-^ He was actually concerned when snooty Ms. Checker escorted me back to the other side of the security check. He was all, "Is everything all right?" So kind of him. I was just about ready to cry at this time so i mustered up a smile and nodded. I hate that i get all emotional AFTER my period is over. *Shakes head*
So i wandered the airport asking random staff if they knew where i could find a bag of some sort. They were all telling me to check my bag, but i wasn't planning on doing that. So finally, i pulled my perfume out and put it in my coat pocket, then walked up to a different security checkpoint. I was planning on begging for my perfume and letting them take the rest, but they never said anything about it. I think they must have overlooked it in the scanner. They saw my coat go in or something and didn't think i'd have liquids in my pockets. They did take my toothpaste, however. A small price to pay for keeping my perfume.
The return flight will be better. The people in the MSP airport are no where near as rude. And there are plenty of places before the security check you could buy a bag from.

I have just stumbled upon what i believe is going to be one of my new favorite pairings~ Godric/Salazar fanart has clued me into the lovely world that is founders slash and i'm already pretty addicted. Which can't be good considering i have a math final tomorrow. Ah well. If i pass i pass, if i fail, well...i never really expected to pass in the first place~

Some days i wish i could just keep dreaming. I've managed to keep my- pining?- for Russell to a minimum since coming to college but these last three days have been hard for me in that respect. Spending time with my guy friends got me to thinking the other day about having someone for myself. I really am not the dating sort, so this kind of bothered me. Then Friday night i had a strange dream about marrying some tall dark stranger. If he looked suspiciously like Snape, who's to know~ The fact of the matter is, my dream intended was incredibly supportive and loving without the over the top displays of affection. It was more in the way they stood by me than any actual declaration of love. Just one of those feelings more than words type things. I don't know. Either way, it really got to me all day. I kept thinking about those feelings and i recognized the lack of them in my own life.
And then last night i had to go and dream about Russell. As proof to how much it stuck in my mind, i sat around for about an hour while i attempted to get dressed just thinking and replaying it in my mind. It wasn't even all that great of a dream. More the feel of it than the actions, again. Well, maybe some of the actions....i don't know. It was just me, Russell, and someone else at some house. I raced up to the porch of this building and looked off at the trees, while the other two walked slowly behind me. The other person pulled up next to me and looked out as well. And then arms came over and rested on my shoulders to hold out a wallet in front of me. It wasn't a sexual touch, but more of an 'i'm comfortable enough to drape myself over you in a friendly manner' type of thing~ Anyway, Russell opened it up and started flipping through the papers and photos inside and i noticed a lot of them were very familiar. And then he said, "It's yours, right? I found it." and he handed it off to me. Then we were on the street walking up a hill and i dashed to catch up, chatting with Russell about the stories behind some of the funny pictures. The other person stayed behind and followed up after us.
What really got to me in the dream was his arms. Even though it was a dream, i could feel their pressure on my shoulders. I hadn't recognized the wallet as my own at first and when i saw the pictures inside, some of them of me, i remember thinking 'He can't really dislike me. Not anymore.' And that feeling of hope stuck with me through the rest of the dream. Walking up the road next to him, i was all smiles and quiet chatter. It was comfortable, and i got many smiles from Russell in return.
Bah~ maybe i'm just a sucker for arms and hands~ Either way, i'd have liked the dream to last a little longer, but that's the way those things go. I keep hoping i'll have another dream about him, but then i think that perhaps i don't want to if it leads me to this pointless roundabout examination of my own feelings yet again.
*stares off into space once more*

Today was fun~ I made flash cards this morning for my Medieval History class since my final is on Monday. Then this evening, Yoon Jeong and i were going to supper when we ran into Natalie and Jen going to eat as well. So we tagged along and met up with Sagan in the hallway. She decided she'd catch up with us at the dinning hall. We were all set to meet Mark once we got to Earhart and were surprised to see Ben there as well~ Tables are found and jammed together, and everyone goes off to gather nourishment. Arriving back at the table, i find that not only has Sagan shown up, but she brought along Vicky and Vanessa, who in turn brought along Mary. @_@ So~ many people! We thought it was just going to be a small group of people eating together but it turned into this huge meal~ The tables ended up getting turned into an L shape because there wasn't much room and i was stuck on the inside corner. It was rather humorous talking because one side of the L was all of us pervy slasher types and the other half was the "normal" bunch. Us crazies would go off on whatever nonsense popped up at the time and then we'd realize there was dead silence from the other half. We're not sure if they didn't understand us or if they were so scarred they couldn't speak~ All in all, an entertaining evening~

I felt really proud and happy with myself today when i realized that i have a couple male friends that i made all by myself~ ^-^ That seems kind of silly, i'm sure, but i was excited none the less. All of my previous guy friends were all introduced to me by my female friends; i'd never actually just made friends with guys before. So today, when i was hanging out in the Union with two guys i chat with often i felt special. Inside i was all 'Yay~ ^-^' and we're going to hang out and watch a movie on Tuesday as well~ Go Boussole! Way to go for getting out of your silly boy-shy box~ And, at least from my viewpoint, it's a totally platonic relationship; no ulterior motives on my end. I don't think either of them are thinking like that either~ Either that or i really am just oblivious to everything.....
And the semester's almost over! Tomorrow's the last day and then it's finals week, and then i get to go home~ *does the happy dance*

Gah~ Some people! >.< I can't say that it's any of my business what Caitlin (girl across the hall) and her boyfriend do but i would like to remain oblivious to whatever it is! I have seen that boy half-naked/mostly-naked/in-various-stages-of-undress more times than anyone who's not his girlfriend should! X_X I don't want to be privy to these things~~ Leave me out! Please! One) if you are not clothed, doesn't it seem like a good idea to become so before wandering around two) A GIRLS HALL!?!?! Just because it's late does not mean someone else isn't up or going to need to use the bathroom! And all guests are supposed to be gone by two in the morning anyhow! >.< I do not want to see you walking back down the hall in just a pair of shorts at three in the morning! *dies from annoyance* @_@ Some people... -_-

| Just an update~ |

I had a lovely Thanksgiving break at home. It was so nice to see all of my friends and family~ I feel like i did a lot at the time, but when i think back on the four days i was home, i didn't do very much at all. When i landed on Tuesday i went strait to my brother's jazz band concert (the clinician was OMG good~ 0.0), and i saw a lot of my underlings from band! ^-^ They were all so excited to see me that i felt really special~ ^///^ Tyler didn't show it at the time but he was glad to see me back as well. On Wednesday i slept in and then Grandmother took mother and i out for lunch at Olive Garden. We bummed around town for a bit after that looking for a birthday present for my roommate. Then i got dropped off at the mall to meet up with my friends~ It was wonderful chatting with everyone again. Most of us ended up going over to Heather's house to play Apples to Apples. It was a very enjoyable evening for me. And Thursday, of course, was turkey day. I pigged out on food and played Guitar Hero with Tyler all day. I was sad though, because my side began to really hurt me about halfway through the day. But luckily enough i was going to the doctor on Friday for shots~ -_-; We got a doctor to look at me before i got my vaccination and it turns out i have a kidney infection or something close to it. They said it wasn't bad enough that i needed to be hospitalized. Obviously i was still able to move and walk around with only mild pain. So they gave me these pills and sent me on my way after i got my second round of the Hep AB shot. I think my mother had a worse time with the shot than i did. She hates that kind of thing~ ^-^ After going home, Tyler and i set up the Christmas tree and then i went down the street to visit Kayla. We ended up playing Fatal Frame II the entire evening. We just had to beat the game~ It was so exciting! ^-^ Saturday i spent shopping with my aunt and mother for christmas presents and then packed up to go back to Indiana. So maybe i did do a lot of stuff after all~ Oh well ^-^
ETA: I had a good chuckle at supper tonight when the people at the table behind me were trying to figure out how layers worked in Photoshop~ >.< That's such basic knowledge to me i couldn't help but laugh a little! I probably should have offered to explain things to them~
ETA again:I made a new icon~ It's of my RP character Seth. I like how it turned out in the icon~ ♥

Yay~ I went to Chicago and saw Wicked today~ It was excellent! The trip was nice because it's the first chance i've gotten to really get out of Lafayette since i got here and i've never been to Chicago before. I loved the buildings and architecture down on Michigan Ave.~ I wish my camera wasn't broken still. I think i must say that almost everyday.... Anyways, the play was spectacular! The costumes were simply gorgeous~ The acting was terrific! And the singing~ @_@ I'm so glad i already own the soundtrack or i'd have had to pay an arm and a leg at the theater to get it! The ending was such a surprise! I won't say anything though, in case some mysterious person reading my LJ doesn't want a spoiler~ ^-^ I was just so glad when i saw the ending, but also still a bit sad. It was very bittersweet, i suppose. I just had to give a little update on my exciting day~ I now, unfortunately, have to write an essay that i have due tomorrow. And finish the 40 more pages left first. ^-^;;;

Vanessa dragged me to go see Happy Feet and i only went because i knew the HP movie 5 trailer would be playing and OMG!!!! It was awesome!!!!! Snape! There was so much Snape!!! X______X *dies happy* *is flailing around right now* And they had the Harry/Cho kiss scene! o.o *shocked* I am so incredibly excited to see it! I need to see the trailer again because there was just so much flying at you so quickly. I need to go frame by frame~ lol~
And Happy Feet was much better than i thought it would be. I figured it was going to be some cheesy kids movie with little to no plot. But it was actually really good. Surprise. There were some great lines in there, and the singing was phenomenal! I'd definitely see it again once it's out on DVD~

Math is so crazy today~ I had my third exam last night and i was pretty sure it was my worst one yet. Which is sad because i haven't done so well on the other two either. Well, i checked my answers online and it ended up being my best test yet! I only got four wrong out of fifteen! Today in math everyone was complaining about how hard the test was and about how they'd gotten under 50%. I just sat there and smiled~ ^-^ And then we got our quizzes back from on Monday. I hadn't finished my quiz in time and hadn't fully answered the question because i wasn't really sure what i was doing. So when the TA handed my paper back folded in half i was thinking 'uh-oh!' I open it up and see the big red 9/10. o.o ^-^ And our homework on wednesday was worth full points just by turning it in. No correct answers necessary. *shakes head* Just a strange day for me and math.

Cybele and Yukipon have made it impossible for me to eat my dessert in the dinning hall today. There was Black Forest Cherry Cake and the entire time i was enjoying it, my mind kept jumping to Cybele's fic "Cake and a cup of tea" and to Yukipon's drawings that go along with it~ I think i will not be able to eat that kind of cake ever again without my mind going into the gutter.....
As for NaNoWriMo- I am on track with my word count~ Yay! ^-^ Natalie has decided she would rather work on a novel she had been writing before than continue with NaNo and Jen (her roommate) apparently quit by the fifth day. So go me for sticking with it~ ^-^ Over halfway there!

| An entertaining dinner |

So at supper tonight, Yoon Jeong asked about my day and i mumbled out the usual 'classes are boring, i sat on my computer for way too long, i need to write more for NaNo' That got her to asking about my story and the plot behind it. I was a bit hesitant to tell her about it at first for several reasons. One, it's fanfiction. Two, it's slash fanfiction. And three, it's confusing as heck until you sit and think about it. Eventually i came up with a way to explain it to her without mentioning HP, slash, or character names. ^-^ It involved a salt and pepper shaker, my empty glass, a fork, one plate, and the napkin holder~ Not to mention the table. I got some interesting looks while i used each of my props to tell her my story.
There's a bit of time travel involved because i wanted to explore the dynamic between Harry and a younger Snape, but i also wanted them to interact in their normal state as well. Which is why my story is so confusing at times. Basically, the way i explained it was that Young Guy (the pepper shaker/Harry) had to kill the evil villain (Fork/Voldemort) so he went to this place(napkin holder/island) and pulled the younger (salt shaker) version of Old Guy (glass/Snape) there out of time and space. Meanwhile, in the rest of the world (table) this really old observer guy (Spoon/Dumbledore) knew exactly what was going on and why Old Guy secretly hated Young Guy. And the plate was where hey all lived, aka Hogwarts.I had to explain it several times to her and i got pretty loud at times. My RA was eating next to us at the time and some of her friends quite clearly thought i was nuts~ ^-^
Now i really want to commission someone to draw me a sketch of each o the HP guys with their respective utensils~ Ha ha! ^-^

Interesting night, last night. Jen and Natalie down the hall dragged(ha ha~) me along to the Rocky Horror Picture Show that was playing on campus. I'd seen the movie before so i knew it was going to be a strangely bizarre event, but it was so much fun i can't believe it! ^-^ There were so many people in drag or lingerie! There was a costume contest before everything else started and an hilarious old person dressed as Richard Nixon in drag! XP He never took off his mask the entire evening so we started to wonder if perhaps he was a professor or something! Ha ha! After stripping down to his black lingerie i can understand why he wouldn't want people to see his face i he was a teacher here.
Then they had some activities while we waited for it to turn midnight. The cast had everyone who'd never been to a show before marked with a "V" for virgin and then dragged them onstage. Then there were some ridiculously embarrassing tasks that had to be completed. Jen and Natalie had the first round of tasks which was to give a cast member a lap dance. Then they were shown how it was done by the cast~ I was getting a bit nervous on stage because Jen had mentioned earlier that sometimes at these shows they had the virgins strip. And gods was i hoping i wouldn't have to strip! The second round was probably my favorite! >_< A few more people were chosen and pulled to the front of the stage. They were then told to partner up. Of course you'd pick the person on stage you knew, so the two guys in our group partnered up instantly. They were then given a banana....XD *dies* So, the challenge was to see which partner/team could eat their banana the fastest~ By now i'd noticed the two guys in our group (Mark and Tim? Ben?) looking at each other horrified. ^-^ I couldn't help but Squeee~ Ha ha! ^-^ So the cast gives the countdown: Three, two, one, go! And the two just rush at each other! X.X They finished first. Ha ha! I could have died happy just then! lol! And then i quickly sobered up. It was the last of the "virgins" turn to perform a task. So we were all partnered with a cast member, each of whom had a twinkie. We were to suck the white cream filling out, without eating the twinkie. @_@ It was so embarrassing try to do that! One, i was on my knees in front of someone on a stage; and two, it's damn near impossible to suck the filling out of a twinkie. You can't do it! Ye basically end up destroying the twinkie while trying to lick out the inside. Task completed, i got to sit down again. Then they had a call for anyone who wanted to participate in one more activity. Well, everyone else in the group went up on stage so i figured, screw it, why not. It can't be much more humiliating than what's already transpired. We get onstage, the MC announces we will be playing "Suck and Blow". o.o I thought, "What have i gotten myself into!?!" She then holds up a condom. Now i'm thinking "Oh. My. God. I am not going to kiss someone next to me just to pass a condom around a circle!" Then she explained that you were just suctioning the package to your mouth and than passing it on to the next person. Phew. Huge sigh of relief there. It was still a bit embarrassing but not as bad after that momentary shock. It looked quite bad considering what we were actually doing. Whenever there were two guys next to each other, there were a number of catcalls~ ^-^
Embarrassing virgin activities finished, the MC then asked for any couples to come on stage. They had 5 seconds to wow and impress us with a kiss. So couple number one gets out there and the guy is most obviously gay, but it was entertaining to watch him try with a girl nonetheless~ Couple number two gets out and the major height difference allows for some entertainment. Number three were to girls. Number four, ditto, but in RHPS costumes. Number five was batman and his girl. And the last one was the one that took the cake! Two guys walk to the center of the stage. Guy 1 drops to his knees and begins molesting guy 2, works his way up to his mouth and then some lovely grinding action occurs for both of them. As the MC said, "I think that might have been the greatest five seconds of my life!" Ha ha! No one else would try after them. So they won by lack of further competitors! ^-^
And then the show started. It was so much fun with the survival kits! We got to throw rice at the wedding scene, we used our squirt guns for rain and had a newspaper to protect us. There was a flashlight, a bell, some playing cards, a kazoo, a party hat, some confetti. We threw toilette paper when Dr. Scott showed up, and toast when Frankenfurter proposed a toast. By the end of the night there was such a mess everywhere! But all in all, a thoroughly entertaining evening. I think all of us plan on going again next year as well.

OMG~ @_@ The elevators are out to get me~~~ I had to go to Young Hall today to register for classes next semester. And the elevator there is super creepy~ -_-;; They're all tiny, and paneled in dark wood, and make scary clanking-scraping noises when they move, and are really badly lit~ T_T Really creepy! And then the elevator in McCutcheon was making scary noises when i went up to my floor too! They're out to get me i tell you! T_T
Anywho, as far as classes go, i am now registered for the following next semester:
Astronomy 264 - My natural science course i'm required to take. According to my adviser, the teacher is deaf and a really cool british guy! ^-^ Should be interesting!
English 106 - Another required class. English composition. It's pretty much safe to assume it'll be very boring.
Statistics 113 - Yoon Jeong said this math course was fairly easy...i hope so.
Classics 333 - This i'm looking forwards to! It's a comparative Mythology course~ Yay~
Education 270 - I have no idea what this is o.o My adviser said i should take it and signed me up before i could find out more.
Should be an interesting semester come January!
